Privacy Notice for Occupants

At Senze Limited, we take your privacy seriously. We are the controller of any personal data that we collect about you. This notice sets out how we use your personal data.

How do we use your personal data?

We are providing services to the organisation that owns your home, and to provide those services we need to collect a limited amount of personal data about you. The services we are providing relate to measuring the energy efficiency of the property and to provide recommendations to make the property more energy efficient. We do this by installing sensors in the property to take the temperature, air pressure, and humidity of the property (either from the sensors or from databases such as Accuweather for your location) and carrying out a survey that measures the layout of the property. Depending on the number of people living in a particular property, we might be able to find out information about your personal energy consumption from the data that we collect from the sensors, but we will always keep this information pseudonymised (i.e. apply a code to it and remove your name/address so you cannot be directly identified by the information).

Senze will receive your name and address from the organisation that owns your home so that our engineers can attend your home, complete a survey, and fit the sensors. Our lawful basis for using your personal data in this way is that it is necessary for the performance of our contract with the property owner and our legitimate interests, which are to ensure the sensors are fitted in your home and to collect accurate information about the property's energy efficiency as part of providing our services to the property owner.

Who do we share your personal data with?

We will share your personal data with the owner of your property, and with our engineers so that they can attend your home to install the sensors. We also share your personal data with our IT service providers (e.g. for cloud hosting of the data), our business partners that assist us in providing the services, our professional advisors, and certain organisations if we are required to do so by law. All your personal data is hosted in the UK or the EU.

If we sell our business or assets at any time, we will disclose your Personal Data to the prospective buyer of such business or assets subject to the terms of this privacy policy.

How long do we keep your personal data?

We will delete your name and contact details six months after the Technology Services Agreement with the property owner has expired. Any other personal data we will keep for the duration of our agreement with the property owner and for six years after it ends.

Your rights

You have various rights in relation to your personal data, in certain circumstances. These are:

Inform, Access, and Correction: You have the right to be informed about the personal data that we process, to be provided with a copy of the personal data

we hold about you and request corrections or updates if it is inaccurate or incomplete.

Data Deletion: You can request the deletion of your personal data from our systems.

Restriction: You can request that we restrict the processing of your personal data (while we verify or investigate your concerns with this personal data, for example).

Objection: You can object to the further processing of your personal data.

Data portability: Upon request, we can provide you with a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, or transmit it directly to another controller, where technically feasible.
